Oz Museum in Wamego, KS

On our way to Colby, KS, we took a quick detour to visit the Oz Museum in Wamego, KS.  It was a little building with memorabilia from the books, movie, The Wiz, Wicked -- nothing spectacular.  Next door was a Mexican restaurant -- Toto's Tacos.  I had the Tinman Black Bean burrito for lunch.

Life on the road is a little busy and chaotic...sorry I haven't been updating very often.  If you can believe it, I'm sitting in my hotel room watching The Wizard of Oz on TBS.  Here are some pictures of my costumes.

St. Louis has been wonderful!  We played the Fabulous Fox Theatre.  Here is a short list of people who have performed there and have autographed the walls backstage:  Michael Jackson, Chita Rivera, Bill Cosby, Carol Channing, Chita Rivera, Peter Allen, Tommy Tune, Sutton Foster, Rita Moreno, Tanya Tucker, Randy Travis, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews, Kenny Rogers....the list could go on forever.  Here is a view of the theatre from onstage:

Preview #1

Tonight was our first preview in front of an audience.  The show went extremely well.  There are so many aspects that have to come together... actors, musicians, crew, props, costumes, onstage pyro, fog, people FLYING, people melting...but it has all come together quite well and it truly is a beautiful show.  Just....magical.  I feel like a kid every time I go to work.  It is pretty much the best job.  Ever.

Beginning of Tech Week

After arriving Sunday night, I had a few friends working at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater come over to York for dinner.  It's always wonderful to see old friends.  Monday morning was the start of "tech."  We did not actually work onstage, though.  We started some notes from our run through Saturday when the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building.  I believe the crew was working on some of the Witch's special effects and it probably was too much for the smoke detectors.  We continued our notes, ran a few numbers and then started understudy rehearsals. We probably won't run the show again in its entirety until Friday.  That is a little scary.   Tonight we get to hear our orchestra for the first time, which is  exciting.

On the bus headed to York, PA to begin tech week. The Pennsylvania countryside is beautiful. All the leaves have changed color and the farms are really green.
